JAMA – CMR can safely diagnose “Achy Breaky Heart”

A paper recently published by the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) revealed that Stress cardiomyopathy (stress-induced acute heart disease), also known as the “broken-heart syndrome“) can now be safely diagnosed with cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) alone. Furthermore, this diagnosis can be made using criteria that has been developed in Calgary at the Stephenson CMR Centre at the Libin Cardiovascular Institute of Alberta.
