UCalgary Medicine – Research Report

UCalgary Medicine, via the office of Dr. Richard Hawkes, Sr. Associate Dean (Research) recently issued the 2010-11 research report. In this publication, two Libin Cardiovascular Institute of Alberta research areas are highlighted: vascular translational research (J.L. “Sam” and Beverly Mozell Laboratory for Studies of Vascular Function) and the quite chronic diseases epidemic (Interdisciplinary Chronic Disease Collaboration).

Did you know …

  • UCalgary Medicine received over $130 million in 2008-2009 in research grants and contracts from federal and provincial governments, charitable organizations and industry.
  • Valued at a little over $40 million eight years ago, and $96 million in 2006, UCalgary Medicine’s endowment today is over $150 million.
  • Ten years ago UCalgary Medicine had one Research Chair. Today we have 53!
